Dear Parents,
“Shamrocks & Shortbread”: An all-age Scottish and Irish ceilidh – Friday 20th March
The Strathblane Primary Fundraisers (SPF) are organising an all-age ceilidh on 20th March, 7pm till 10.30pm. As this falls just after St Patricks day, we are making this a celebration of all things both Scottish and Irish – hence “Shamrocks & Shortbread”.
This promises to be a fun night for all the family, and we are delighted to have the Trossachs Ceilidh Band playing on the night. In addition, we will have:
• Complimentary Scottish and Irish homebaking;
• A raffle of Scottish and Irish hampers;
• An auction of Scottish/Irish themed prizes;
• Entertainment from some of the talented pipers and fiddlers in the school.
Can you help?
If you can donate any Scottish and/or Irish goodies to be included in hampers, please hand these into the school office by Friday 13th March. Or if you would be able to donate some Scottish or Irish home baking, please speak to Traci Leven (01360 770362) or Vivienne Mackay (01360 771987).
We already have some excellent prizes for auction – a half day falconry experience at Strathblane Falconry, a family ticket for the aquarium at Loch Lomond, a spa voucher and concert tickets. If you are able to donate any other suitable prizes (preferably with a Scottish/Irish theme), again please contact Traci or Vivienne.
But most of all, you can support the event by coming along to the ceilidh and having fun! Tickets are available from the school – £5 for adults and £3 for children, under 3s free. Bring your own drink/snacks. Please return the slip below to the school along with cash or a cheque (cheques made payable to Strathblane Primary Fundraisers).
We look forward to seeing you there!
