STRATHBLANE PRIMARY SCHOOL
School Gardening Club
You may already have heard about the new Gardening Club. This was one of the top requests from the children when asked about after school activities! Each house is working on a design plan for the school grounds, the winner of which will be chosen by the Strathblane Gardening Club. The first meeting will be after school on Wednesday, 17th March, with the second meeting being planned for 24th March.
Our first priority will be to replant the area at the front door, followed by each house planting a large tub in house colours – as a reminder these are Mugdock (Purple), Edenkiln (Yellow) and Netherton (Red). The children will also be planting herb pots to be sold at the annual Strathblane Gardening Club sale on 8th May.
The Parent Council will buy the tubs and compost, but we would be very grateful for any donations of plants. As we will have to dig over the garden first, WE DO NOT NEED THE PLANTS BEFORE 24TH MARCH. We will be planting the pots after the Easter holidays, so will put out a further request (with advice on plant choices for the less green fingered of you!) after the break.
In addition, if anyone can provide gardening tools (such as spades, trowels, rakes) we would be very happy to put them to good use.
The children are excited about making the school grounds a place to be proud of. For further information please either contact Mrs Mylles at the school or Cathie Moir on 770698.
Thankyou – Cathie Moir for the Parent Council
