Staff News and Classes for 20010/2011

Dear Parents,

There will be lots of changes at Strathblane Primary School in August 2010.

The rooms that will be used by each stage group will change slightly. Primary 1- 5 will be located on the ground floor; with Primary 6 and 7 locating to the rooms upstairs. On Friday 25th June the pupils will rehearse where they will line up on the day that they return to school on August 17th 2010. During the week of 21st June all pupils will visit the rooms that they will be in next year.

Congratulations to Miss Bulloch who has been appointed as Deputy Headteacher at Markethill Primary School, Turriff. Many children at Strathblane Primary School have had the privilege of having Miss Bulloch as their class teacher, and I know that many parents will be sorry to see her go. However, I’m sure that you will join me in wishing her well with the new challenges that are ahead as she takes up her position as a member of the senior management team in another school.

Mrs Alison Paterson will join the staff as a newly qualified teacher; as part of her induction year she will share a class with Miss Spencer. The classes for 2010/2011 will be as follows:

Primary 1 Mrs Mylles

Primary 2 Mrs Grant

Primary 3 Ms. Bairner (3 days) / Miss Spencer ( 2 days )

Primary 4 Mrs Paterson ( 3 ½ days) / Miss Spencer ( 1 ½ days )
This arrangement will change as the year progresses; with Mrs Paterson’s time with the class increasing and Miss Spencer’s time with the class reducing

Primary 5 Mrs McGregor

Primary 6 Mrs Brown

Primary 7 Ms Marshall

All new members of the teaching team have been invited to visit the school and meet their classes before the end of this term.

We will have a “Meet the Teacher” event during the week beginning 6th September; a letter with details of this evening will be sent home when we return to school in August. I’m sure that all parents will join me in wishing: Miss Allen well as she goes off on her new adventures in U.S.A, Miss Bulloch well as she faces new challenges as her career takes a new direction; and Mrs Lowry well as she starts a new chapter in her life.
